Jamie Gissel is a 20+ year law enforcement veteran, serving nearly 16 of those years on the department's full-time SWAT team. During his SWAT tenure, he operated as lead breacher and tactical instructor, participating in hundreds of high-risk operations, including hostage rescues, barricaded suspect incidents, high-risk warrant service, and dignitary protection details. He now helps lead his department's Advanced Training Unit, developing and delivering specialized programs for patrol, SWAT, and other specialized units.
In addition to his work with SWAT, Jamie has trained patrol officers, school resource officers, and tactical teams nationwide—always with a focus on practical, real-world tactics. As the founder of Valor Threat Protection, he delivers cutting-edge training for law enforcement, schools, and private organizations. His specialties include solo and team active shooter response, breaching, advanced patrol tactics, crisis entry, firearms, defensive tactics, and officer mindset development. Drawing on extensive real-world experience and national best practices, his courses provide officers with practical, repeatable skills to act decisively when lives are on the line.
